DNA Testing for Genealogy

Where do you really come from? And how did you get to where you live today? DNA studies suggest that all humans today descend from a group of African ancestors who—about 60,000 years ago—began a remarkable journey.

DNA Testing is done in two ways: through the Y-Chromosome to follow a male genealogy (only men can do a Y-Chromosome test) or the Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) to follow a female genealogy.

You can order a DNA test from several groups, including: The Genographic Project, Ancestry.com, The Sorenson Molecular Genealogy Foundation, and Family Tree DNA.

If you would like to share your DNA results, or if you have a DNA testing success story, please email us at: lbgc19047@gmail.com.

You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader to read these files. A free copy of the software can be downloaded from http://www.adobe.com/.
